Head cannon conversation between old acquaintances.

Duangrat Chadee walked into the tea house run by Ye Bai Yi. Mink, her trusty pseudodragon sat on her shoulders quietly guiding her way. The old monk had officially retired from the Court of a Thousand Blossoms, but still acted as a waypoint for the organization. Seeing her enter, he sighed. He passed a glance at a server whom rushed over to seat her in a small alcove to the main floor of the restaurant. The alcove was closed off by a fine-beaded curtain that cleverly interfered with anyone trying to lip read a conversation within the alcove, but allowed clear visibility to anyone within. The curtain also marked the border of an intricate cone of obfuscation. The alcove was made in such a way, that when the cone was not activated, the natural construction of the alcove provided plenty sight and sound dampening properties.

After she was situated in the booth, Duangrat looked around the booth for a tell tale engraving on the wall her table rested against. Finding the engraving, she whispered the command word and a drawer opened. Taking four bricks from her haversack, she carefully placed them into the drawer, but did not close it, patiently waiting for Ye Bai Yi to arrive.

The monk in question, grumpily entered the alcove and activated the privacy spell in a smooth motion. "When I ordered more siren song tea, I didn't expect you to be the one delivering it." He said without preamble.

Duangrat smiled and casually fed Mink a fruit. "Your request for more, concerned their parents." after a beat she said. "All of them. I've never seen them so concerned. Even Yalth seemed concerned. Though I could just be projecting."

Ye Bai Yi harumphed. "I think you're exaggerating. Yalth aside, that red demon doesn't care about anyone but himself."

Duangrat calmly took a sip of her tea. "That red demon as you like to call him, does actually care about his child. Why else would he send him so far away for rehabilitation?"

"Ha! Rehabilitation? That demon child of his takes after his mother." the monk said upset. Duangrat smiled. "Which one?" Ye Bai Yi choked out "You!" while pointing his finger angrily at her. Taking a deep breath to calm himself. "Either one. The birth mother is more stubborn than a mule, and the egg donor should have known better than to trust a lich!"

"Our Lady in Shadow wasn't tricked. She knew what she was doing. I personally believe she's trying to turn over a new leaf. How a demon lord does that? I have no idea, but I think they may be involved in her plan somehow." The mysterious lady took another sip of tea, not bothering to clarify who they were. "The siren song tea is highly addictive and was never meant to be a long term solution. She agrees with me that them denying part of themself created Jing Yuan." Ye Bai Yi looked at her in silence.

She coughed. "So, quite independently, Mr. London sent me here to help out the clinic and cultivate some potions based on the unique mushrooms that grow in the area. The director sent me here with more siren song tea with a request to reduce its addictive effects. Our esteemed leader asked me to create an item and deliver it personally, and their mother; well, she asked me to be their personal healer." She took another moment to give a delicate piece of meat to Mink who chirped playfully pretending to be a harmless pet. She liked pretending, it was a fun game. Duangrat glanced over at the open drawer now filled with small bricks. "Consider the delivery request from the director fulfilled. One brick of siren song and three bricks of osmanthus tea. Be careful not to mix them up. I made sure they taste exactly the same." With that, she closed the door.

Out of curiosity, Ye Bai Yi leaned forward and asked. "What did you make?" Duangrat, knowing how much of a prude the old monk was simply opened her haversack and pulled out a long box. The monk stared at her expectantly. Not one to disappoint, she turned the box to face him and opened it. He looked at her confused. "A tongfa? Why give them a single tongfa?" Duangrat said nothing and ran a finger along the shaft. Ye Bai Yi's cheeks turned bright red and immediately slammed the box closed nearly trapping the lecherous girl's fingers in the process. "Absolutely not!" Duangrat rolled her eyes. "That's not for you to decide old man."

Dramatically acting as if something completely slipped her memory, but obviously meticulously timed, she pulled out a scroll backed on silk. "The leader and the director also sent this along as well."  The monk accepted it and cautiously unfolded it, his eyes immediately shot up. She smiled. "Well, after the two of them found out that Our Lady in Shadow wants me to heal their precious child; they decided a contract must be made to ensure our little idiot doesn't turn into a murderous sexual deviant."

Ye Bai Yi's eyes went wide. "I'm not reacting to that. Tob Laeh? Really?!" Duangrat laughed openly. "You think someone that gave the alias Zhou Ke to their own child doesn't have a sense of humor?" her tone shifts slightly. "All jokes aside. The identity is iron clad. I even spent the past few weeks on the road changing the signature in my potions to not reveal myself. As long as all my potions for sale go through the clinic, I don't even have to worry about competition clauses." The monk grumbled, rolled the scroll back up and tossed it back to her.

"The child is out completing some dungeon nearby. They'll probably be back tonight or tomorrow. They usually sleep here, but there's an estate nearby that they've been fixing up with their adventuring friends they've been hanging out with lately. There's probably some crafters you can hire to decorate one of the rooms there for your purposes. I'm sure showing them your marriage agreement will make things go smoothly for you, and cause them no end of headaches in the process."
